Daedalus Watches began with two coworkers, frustrated by the constant late hours and endless work, sharing a passion for watches. A conversation about the latest watch, a common occurrence, turned into a discussion on what they each would do differently with the design. This lead to a bold statement; we could design a better watch, something unique, but not cliché.

That late night conversation fueled by coffee and dreams kicked off a 6 year journey ending in the launch of the Dae-Diver. Throughout that journey, a philosophy developed, one that would go from an underlying feeling, to the foundation of every design and decision. A philosophy that would lead to the company name Daedalus, and a one word mission, balance.

Daedalus, skilled craftsmen and artist, created wings that allowed his son Icarus to fly, giving instructions not to fly too close to the sun, nor too close to the sea. Either would destroy the wings. This story of avoiding hubris and striking a balance became a guiding principle for how Daedalus Watches operates. Not by choosing one idea over another, nor compromising either idea to the point of mediocrity, but balancing the underlying vision.

The Dae-Diver

Crafted with balance in mind,  the Dae-Diver  is technically strong as it is beautiful.
